Five point Charter for the Establishment of the Center for Industries - Institution Interface

Charter

1. To promote effective handshake between the Industry and Dr.M.G.R. Group of Colleges, Chennai, in formulating a need based Industry proposed and conducted curriculum, akin with the requirements ofl university framework by adopting subjects and delivering lectures on the practical aspects in the relevant curriculum.

2. To have a happy handshake in providing consultancy services mutually between the Industries and the Institution. Consultancies will be offered on sponsored projects and problems referred by the Educational, Research and Development organizations.

3. To provide an effective On - the - job Training, Project skills and Competency building programs for the student of the Dr.M.G.R. Group of Colleges and also for the employees from various industries. Also to provide opportunites to students to explore the potential areas of job opportunities in the interdisciplinary areas and to initiate in them the essence of Entrepreneurship Development.

4. To have an effective and advance level orientation programs in areas of current interest between the employees of the industry and the students of the Dr.M.G.R. Group of Colleges on mutual basis on common platform, to develop professionalism with the active involvement of lthe various professional societies.

5. To setup Centers and Conmsortiums for Research in the newer areas likel Bio-Informatics, Remote Sensing and Image Processing, Networking and Computer Communications, Computer aided Design of Systems and Manufacturing process, Neural Network and Intelligence System concepts, Nano technology and Computing, Teaching packages using modern methods and systems for Technical Institutions.

The successful professional education depends onvery close knit and interaction of the institution with industries for curriculum design, training, placement, research, development and project work. R&D activities at industries shape the progress of the industries and the economy of nation as a whole. The insitution’s involvement with industrial r&D brings better results. A healthy exchange of faculty and professionals in industries are being arranged to utilize the expertise in the respective fields. The university has cooperation agreement with IIT, other educational institutions, r&d establishments and reputed industries.

Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute has entered into MoU with more than 25 industries and institutes and a Centre for Industry Institute Interface has been established exclusively for this purpose with funding from AICTE for relevant project proposals.
