DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Brief History

The department of management studies was started in 1993 in our erstwhile Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College. The college was initially affiliated to The University of Madras and subsequently to Anna University . In 2003, the college was awarded the deemed university status and the department started functioning as an independent entity.

This Department has been approved by AICTE vide F.NO 45-25/92-AICTEdt.30.8.93

Vision

To promote leadership qualities and entrepreneurship by educating and training participants in management concepts and methods.

Objectives:

•  To be among the Top-100 educational institutions offering MBA Programs in India , within 5 years

•  To bench-mark our program against leading global offerings and offer a state-of-art MBA program

•  To promote entrepreneurship among MBA graduates

•  MBA – full time & part time

•  Ph D in Management – full time & part time

Infrastructure:

• Campus wide Digital Library with access to leading Management Journals
• Excellent library with current titles
• State of the Art computer lab with software

Placement of Students :

•  40% of our students are placed in the corporate sector—__s, BPO firms, ITES etc.

•  Around 20% of our graduates are managing their family businesses

•  5% have gone overseas for career prospects
